Greater  Hartford Legal Aid serves Hartford County, with the exceptions noted above.

New Haven Legal Assistance serves residents of New Haven County and the Lower Naugatuck Valley. 

Connecticut Legal Services helps Connecticut residents who do not live in Hartford County,  New Haven County or the Lower Naugatuck Valley.

Statewide Legal Services does intake and referrals for Greater Hartford Legal Aid, New Haven Legal Assistance, and Connecticut Legal Services.

AIDS Legal Network is a statewide program.

HOW TO GET HELP

Call Statewide Legal Services at 344-0380
within the Hartford exchange,

1-800-453-3320 from all other parts of Connecticut.

Statewide Legal Services (SLS) staff will ask you questions to find out if you are eligible for services. SLS may give you legal advice over the phone, mail information to you, or refer you to Greater Hartford Legal Assistance.

If you have an emergency, something that must be handled that day, you may call GHLA at 860-541-5000. If you are over 60, you also can contact GHLA directly by calling 860-541-5030.
